Bilbao and Biarritz

Hello,

We have enjoyed our last day in Spain. We were not sure what to expect in Bilbao but we were pleasantly surprised by a very pretty and modern city. Apparently, the place was kind of a dive a couple of decades ago. Our visit was mostly to see the Guggenheim museum by architect Frank Gehry. It is a fantastically beautiful building and we thoroughly enjoyed walking all around it. We also enjoyed some pleasant views and crossed the first transporter bridge in a small village just outside of Bilbao called Puenta Colgente (I think???).

We have been mostly taking it easy/napping/sleeping in Biarritz. Yesterday, it was a beautiful sunny California day. We sat on the beach and enjoyed the rays. If you wonder what Biarritz is like, it is basically the La Jolla, CA of France. We were surprised at how much it looks and feels like La Jolla. Today, it is a bit cloudy so we have mostly been sleeping and trying to beat our colds (still coughing!!). It is our last day in continental Europe. Tomorrow we are off to Dublin, Ireland! Less than 3 weeks left!!!

With Love,
V&P

Hope that you both recover from your colds - you're probably headed back into cool damp weather. Can't believe that you only have 3 weeks left!
