Greetings to the remaining readers,
On our last day in Rome we went to the Museo Borghese were we saw some awesome Bernini sculptures and some cool paintings by Caravaggio (one of P's favorite artists). From there we saw some more churches, the Santa Maria del Popolo and the Santa Stefano Rotondo. Also, we saw another church with some 4000 monk bones that were made into different designs. V got yelled at by a crazy lady since she had the camera on.... no photos. Poor monks, if they only knew there bones would be a semi-tourist-trap.
Today, we have had a great day in Florence. It is a nice change of pace from busy Rome. We went to the Galleria dell'Academia to see Michaelanglo's David (which is enormous) and we went to Uffizi Gallery where we saw a lot of art including The Birth of Venus by Botticelli as well as some paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Michaelangelo. We later went inside the Duomo (cathedral), which had some artwork by Donnatello. V was excited that we saw art today from all of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Afterwards, we walked over the oldest bridge in town, the Ponte Vecchio, which was the only bridge in Florence to survive WWII bombings. V found a favorite Gelato spot in town.... they give you a large and tasty scoop for a good price. Nothing like pure sugar to re-energize tired feet.
Tomorrow we are going to go to Pisa for funny photos of the leaning tower.

Hey, I went to that church with the Monk bones! Very, um, odd and interesting. Florence is one of my favorite cities: great art, great food, easy to walk. And I LOVE the gelato. Yum.
I was beginning to think you were lost, since no message. Tell V to be careful of the crazy people that yell at you, and be careful with the camera. We got our first postcard yesterday, don't get bit by the wild dogs!
Love and miss you!
Keep 'em coming! This is so fun to see Italy vicariously through you. One day I hope to make it . . .
