Rome/Naples/Pompeii

Hello

We are presently in a dorm - and well there is a guy snoring so here I am up typing.

On Sunday - we went to the Vatican for FREE (had to wait two hours for the pleasure!). The museum is awesome. The Sistine
Chapel is the best part though. We also went to St. Peter which is
amazing in size. We saw the pope's tomb - quiet by accident. It was a
full and fun day.

On Monday - we started at the Colosseum - one of the first ones in. It is amazing work. My favorite part of the day was the Palatino
(ruins and GREEN! - I needed some green you couldn't hear the city at
all!). We went through the Roman Forum ruins after that. The Pantheon is
spectacular too - we had fun finding the drains - since there is a
hole in the roof. We had great food on Monday - Italy's appreciation
for potatoes and cheese is helping me (since I am not a big bread pasta
fan).

Today - Tuesday - We took a train to Pompeii - the ruins
are amazing and BIG (it really is a city). We may have seen too many
ruins though as we tired easily. We saw some body casts of people
buriedbeneath the ash (for some reason I thought these would be all over the city).

We have one more day in Rome and then we are off to Florence. Yes, Kim -
you are the only one I know who even has a blog - so I look to you for
help - by the way you are winning the award for most posts.

Well I am going to go see if my room is snore free. I am sure Parker will
have some stuff to add and we will post a couple photos tomorrow. V
